photo of web site codeI have developed a multi-step process to ensure that the web site I make for you meets your high expectations.

  1. We will complete a web design survey.
    We can go over the survey together, or you may complete it on your own at your convenience.  The questions in this survey will really get you thinking about the purpose of your web site, your web site audience, and the image you want your web site to project.
  2. We will go over the specifications for each individual web page.
    This survey will help us determine the content and details for each individual page of your site including text, links, and graphics.
  3. I will set up your web hosting, domain registration, and e-mail.
    No need to worry about the technical details of a web hosting account. While you will receive complete documentation on your hosting account for safe keeping, you are free to file it away without a second glance!  This service is for clients who purchase hosting through Zeller Web Design.
  4. I will create a temporary “coming soon” page while your new web site is being developed.
    You can begin advertising your new web site address immediately. Your temporary page can include your logo, a graphic or two, and your contact information.
  5. You choose the design of your site.
    I will create some possibilities for your web site’s visual design, and we will work together to choose the best layout and design for you.
  6. I will optimize your web site for search engines.
    I will include appropriate keywords on each page of your site as determined in the individual web pages survey.  The keywords will be listed in the header portion of the web page code and included in the readable text of your page (whenever possible and appropriate).  Taking these steps will ensure greater search engine visibility, so your web site can be indexed by search engine crawlers and thus found by your customers.
  7. I will create and upload a first draft of your web site for you to proof.
    Any modifications to the design or content that you desire will be noted, and I will incorporate them into the next draft of the site.  We will continue with this process until you are satisfied with the results.
  8. I will make sure your web site meets standards both for code and accessibility.
    Non-profit organizations who receive government funding are required by law to have web sites that meet the accessibility guidelines set by the government.  It’s good practice for any organization to have an accessible web site to ensure that all visitors, including those with disabilities (such as visual impairment), have a pleasant experience when visiting.  As an added bonus, meeting standards for code and accessibility means that your web site will load quickly and display more consistently across the major browser platforms.
  9. I will proof your web site for accuracy before the final web site is uploaded.
    I will check the spelling, grammar, and hyperlinks, and test the forms and any other special applications throughout your web site before it becomes available to the public.
  10. I will submit your web site address and information to the major search engines.
    This service is offered only to clients who purchase hosting through Zeller Web Design.  For clients who administer their own hosting account, check with your hosting company about this service.  Many offer this as part of the standard hosting package.
  11. You won’t be left alone!
    For thirty days after the final draft of your web site is published, I will make changes and corrections to your web site free of charge.  For web site updates and maintenance past thirty days, I offer several different web site maintenance packages.
